The diploma program is a starting point for a career in business, industry, a government or non-government body or an international organisation. Graduates may move into one of the many degrees offered through the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University.

Structure

  • Part 1: 2 trimesters (8 months each)
  • Part 2: 2 trimesters (8 months each). Depending on previous academic results and prerequisite study scores, students may be required to complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the diploma. Applicants should note that a qualification is only awarded after successful completion of Part 2.

Standard entry requirements

  • Diploma Part 1: completion or Australian Year 11 or equivalent
  • Prerequisites: Year 11 equivalent mathematics and English. Diploma Part 2: completion or Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Prerequisites: Year 12 equivalent English and mathematics (business stream) or higher level mathematics (commerce stream).

Study pathways

After successful completion, students are eligible for entry into second year of a related undergraduate program at Monash University. Students will be required to meet minimum entry requirements before progressing to their selected destination degree: Business, Business Administration, Business Specialist, Commerce, Commerce Specialist.
