Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Music

Monash University

This course allows students to pursue specialist studies in music while exploring a range of business disciplines. With this combination students can follow their passion, and gain essential skills that will help them take their music career to the next level, or pursue commercial aspects of music. This leads to two separate degrees: Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Music. Students gain all the benefits of each degree course and are fully equipped to pursue a career in either field separately or combine the two. Students will receive a high-quality tertiary music education, specialising in Composition and music technology, Ethnomusicology and musicology or Music performance. Students combine this with a major in commerce such as Actuarial studies, Finance, Marketing science or Management studies, to help manage business requirements either for themselves or across the music industry. In the Commerce degree, students will develop broad commercial knowledge and be able to choose from ten majors. Within the Music course students will benefit from a vibrant, nurturing and progressive environment, with highly skilled teaching staff, modern facilities, unique archival collections and outstanding industry connections. The double degree combination also provides opportunities to participate in international study tours, internships and leadership programs.
