Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Science

Monash University

This course leads to two separate degrees: Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science. A Commerce and Science degree gives students the skills to commercialise scientific research or outcomes, or apply commercial knowledge in scientific environments. They will develop the technical and research skills required across scientific fields while developing an understanding of commercial realities of research as a business. Students can combine majors to explore existing areas of interest or develop new ones. Students gain all the benefits of each degree and are fully equipped to pursue a career in either field separately or combine them. In the Commerce degree, students will develop broad commercial knowledge and can choose from ten majors. The Science degree gives students the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of majors. Students could pursue majors in Applied Mathematics and Actuarial Studies or Econometrics which could lead to an academic career or the development of new mathematical models and principles. They could blend studies in Environmental Science or Ecology and conservation biology with a major in Sustainability and introduce sustainable practices into the community or across organisations or turn majors in Pharmacology and Marketing science into a career marketing new medications or scientific breakthroughs.
