Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science

Monash University

The Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science is an applied science degree that combines advanced theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on experience on industry standard equipment, equipping students with the skills required to join Victoria's most valuable high-tech industry. Students learn to improve human health and wellbeing by researching and developing more reliable, accessible and effective treatments and products. They learn about the chemistry, biology and technology of medicines and other formulations. They also acquire the knowledge and practical skills that are critical to the discovery and development of new pharmaceutical products and therapies. In 2016, the QS World University Rankings by Subject named Monash 4th in the world and first in Australia for Pharmacy and Pharmacology. Students graduate job-ready for a career in pharmaceutical research, the biomedical industry and other fields that require advanced chemical-formulation skills. Students will graduate having worked in industry-standard facilities, such as to the Shimadzu high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) lab, which will give an edge in the job stakes.
