This program prepares students to graduate as physiotherapists, health care professionals who focus on prevention, assessment and treatment of physical disorders and the promotion of movement and health.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; Units 3 & 4 - a study score of at least 35 in English (EAL) or 30 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in any 2 of chemistry, biology, mathematical methods (CAS), physics or specialist mathematics;

Structure:

In first year, the curriculum is structured around conditions for which people typically seek physiotherapy. In the last 2 years, students learn in a clinical environment under the supervision of expert clinicians.

All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites. University: Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year of full time study (48 points) of a recognised university degree; and must have at least a distinction 70% average across all their studies. This is a minimum requirement. Admissions to this course is competitive and applicants may need to meet a higher requirement to be considered for a place.

Further information:

Students undertaking a Faculty Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences course with clinical or fieldwork placements must demonstrate compliance with police, working with children checks and immunisation requirements.

Recognition:

Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
