The Graduate Diploma in Law is ideal for law and non-law graduates wanting to gain further legal expertise, and adds value in the workplace as well as offering the chance to hone legal knowledge and skills. It'll enable graduates of law and other disciplines to develop advanced skills for legal or professional practice or higher learning, and is a pathway for entry to a master's degree. While this course normally comprises eight coursework units, applicants may be eligible to obtain credit for up to four units for recognised work experience or previous learning.

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Law or equivalent; or Bachelor degree or equivalent in any other discipline plus sufficient work based or other learning in a cognate (related) field which together constitute the equivalent of a Bachelor degree; Applicants will be assessed on their entire academic record with a credit average (or equivalent) preferred. Students who do not have a credit average or relying on relevant work experience to satisfy entry requirements will need to have worked for at least 1 year, though the period may be shorter where the experience has been supplemented by other relevant learning.


8 coursework units (6 credit points each). Candidates who do not have an undergraduate law degree must complete the unit Australian legal system. Students with a law degree from a non-Australian jurisdiction must also complete the unit Introduction to Australian legal process.
