This course equips students with the skills and knowledge to address the wide range of legal issues that arise in contemporary business. It is designed for graduates and for those who need specialist legal knowledge in their roles, such as regulatory, compliance or risk-management positions. The course will provide students with a well-rounded understanding of the legal environment and its impact on business practice in corporate governance, financial regulation, Asian and international business, human resources and workplace relations, marketing and taxation. It is ideal if students are looking to advance their legal literacy, which is increasingly important for employers when filling strategic and decision-making roles. The units in the course offer a distinct business perspective on current legal issues and developments, in particular in fields such as regulation, compliance and risk-management. The range of units on offer enables students to tailor their degree to develop specialist legal knowledge in the areas most suited to interests, career needs and goals. The course gives students access to some of Australia's renowned educators in the fields of business and law. The teaching staff has extensive industry experience, ensuring that studies focus on current concepts and issues that are relevant to business today.

Entry Requirements:

Australian Bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, and achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 55 or equivalent GPA as determined by the Faculty. Applicants must also meet the English language requirements and will be ranked and selected based on their entire academic record.


Students must complete 96 points and the course is structured in three parts: four units in Part A. Advanced preparatory studies (24 points), eight units in Part B. Mastery knowledge (48 points) and four units in Part C. Application studies (24 points). Students admitted at entry level 1 complete 96 points, comprising Parts A, B and C. Students admitted at entry level 2 complete 72 points, comprising Part B and C. Students admitted at entry level 3 complete 48 points comprising Part B. Note: Students eligible for credit for prior studies may elect not to receive the credit and complete the higher credit-point option.

This course also offers a research pathway if students are interested in pursing a PhD. Students wishing to undertake the research pathway must maintain at least a 70 WAM and be accepted for entry by the Course Coordinator and Higher Degrees by Research Director. Students may exit this course early and apply to graduate with Graduate Certificate of Business or the Graduate Diploma of Business, provided they have satisfied the requirements for that award during their enrolment in this master's course.
