This program is both an entry-level qualification for a professional journalism career and a mid-career course for working journalists seeking to extend their expertise. It emphasises high level skills in research and reporting for all media - print, video, radio and online - combined with critical analysis of the role of the media in contemporary society. The program has strong links with industry and leading universities in journalism education both nationally and internationally.

Entry Requirements:

Entry level 1: Duration: 2 years full-time, 4 years part-time (96 points to complete); Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) with at least credit (60%) average, or qualification/experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent. Entry level 2: Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time (72 points to complete) An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline including humanities or social sciences with at least credit (60%) average, or qualification/ experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent; or Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent); and an Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline including humanities or social sciences with at least credit (60%) average in both qualifications, or qualification/experience or satisfactory substitute that the faculty considers to be equivalent.
