This program focuses on advancing management, decision-making and problem-solving skills to grow expertise so students can move into senior managerial positions. It focuses on changing and dynamic organisational environments, and is suitable for experienced professionals from a range of backgrounds, including government, community service and not-for-profit organisations as well as people with technical backgrounds in engineering and medicine, who are seeking to enhance their management skills. The program has a flexible structure, which allows students to choose from an extensive list of electives, so they can tailor it to their personal goals or industry. The program is taught by experienced academics and leading management practitioners and provides students with the opportunity to network with professionals from a range of backgrounds.

Entry Requirements:

Australian bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, and a minimum two years relevant employment. Applicants must also meet the English language requirements and will be ranked based on relevant employment experience and their entire academic record, with a credit average preferred.

Structure:

Students must complete 72 points and the course is structured into two parts: eight units in Part A Mastery knowledge (48 points) and four units in Part B Application studies (24 points). Students admitted at entry level 1 complete 72 points, comprising Parts A and B. Students admitted at entry level 2 complete 48 points, comprising Part A. Note: Students eligible for credit for prior studies may elect not to receive the credit and complete the higher credit-point option.

Study Pathways:

The course also offers a research pathway if students are interested in pursing a PhD. Students intending to enrol in the research report require permission. Students must have completed a minimum of 24 points of coursework study, including MGX4000 and achieved a minimum average of 70%, to progress to the research report. Students should discuss this option with the Course Coordinator prior to enrolling.

Further information:

Students may exit this course early and apply to graduate with Graduate Certificate of Business or the Graduate Diploma of Business, provided they have satisfied the requirements for that award during their enrolment in this master's course.
