Master of Philosophy - Information Technology (By Research)

The Master of Philosophy is a 100 per cent research program. A research candidate is required to undertake a program of supervised research within the faculty resulting in the completion of a major thesis, of a maximum of 35,000 words. In fulfilling the requirements for supervised study and research at the university, a candidate is required to be present on campus at Monash University on a regular basis and to be involved in the intellectual life of the university and the Faculty.

Entry Requirements:

All applicants must be able to demonstrate a capacity to carry out independent research and have adequate training and ability to pursue the proposed course of study.

Structure:

Students must, in consultation with and under the direct supervision of a member/s of the academic staff carry out a program of research on an agreed topic approved by the relevant school in your chosen discipline for a specified period, including attending and/or presenting at seminars and other related activities as indicated by the relevant school and submit for assessment a thesis of not more than 35,000 words on the program of research which meets the requirements of the examiners and satisfactorily complete a program of coursework study and training.

You may apply to transfer to a PhD after successful completion of confirmation and provided that satisfactory progress has been made and certain conditions are met.
