The Vallejo Gantner Memorial Travel Grant was created in 1970 in memory of Vallejo Gantner, a student in the Faculty of Arts during the University’s foundation year who died in 1962 as the result of an accident. The travel grant is an incentive for students who possess an inquiring spirit, by enabling them to travel during the summer vacation period to a ’developing’ country.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be one of the following: An Australian citizen.; A New Zealand citizen.; Australian permanent resident.; Australian humanitarian visa holder. You must meet the following criteria: Current undergraduate on-campus student enrolled in at least the second year of their degree in either the Faculty of Business and Economics or the Faculty of Arts* at a Monash campus in Australia, and Travelling during the summer semester to a 'developing' country outside Australia for at least six weeks.; Successful recipients can only receive this grant once. *students must have completed as least 48 credit points of study. Students in these faculties undertaking a double degree within another faculty are eligible.
