This unit is part of the Business Services Training Package. It defines skills, knowledge and outcomes required to plan and supervise the performance of the team and develop team cohesion. It applies to team leaders, supervisors and new emerging managers who have an important leadership role in the development of efficient and effective work teams. Leaders at this level also provide leadership for the team and bridge gaps between the management of the organisation and team members. As such they must 'manage up' as well as manage their teams.

Established in 1995, Morgan & Hay Community Services Training & Development Centre is a Registered Training Organisation. It is now part of the Maxima Group [Training Services]. They provide training in community services, home and community care, disability, mental health (non-clinical), service co-ordination and leisure and lifestyle. Short courses for employers are also offered and can assist with workforce planning and development. Classes are kept to a maximum of 15 students for internal learning and 10 students for online learning. It regularly provides training under funding from Government departments and is a 'Workready' registered provider.
