This qualification is part of the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of tasks relating to servicing and repairing air conditioning components and systems of cars and heavy vehicles in an automotive service and repair business.

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Follow environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace; Follow safe working practices in an automotive workplace; Test and repair basic electrical circuits; Service air conditioning and HVAC systems; plus more. Electives: Solder electrical wiring and circuits; Install air conditioning systems; Overhaul air conditioning and HVAC system compressors; Carry out mechanical pre-repair operations; Use and maintain tools and equipment in an automotive workplace; Prepare vehicles for customer use; plus more.

Established in 1910, the Motor Traders' Association of NSW (MTA) is a Registered Training Organisation offering a range of traineeships and apprenticeships to automotive businesses across NSW. Traineeships are available in automotive sales, automotive mechanical, bicycles, automotive administration and automotive management. MTA NSW also offers apprenticeships in the areas of light and heavy vehicle mechanic and panel beating and spray painting in the Sydney metropolitan area.
