Through studying Community Development at Murdoch you will learn how to make a difference working with schools, local councils, ecologists, Indigenous groups, social services organisations, resources companies, universities and other groups. You'll develop the knowledge and practical skills you need to work in various settings and can get involved in a short internship with a community organisation. You'll explore how to encourage people to get more involved in locally designed projects, experience different examples of community development projects and learn about the history of community work, policy and the diversity of communities. To expand your expertise and career prospects even further, you can combine Community Development with another major such as Australian Indigenous Studies, Sociology, Sustainable Development or Asian Studies.
