In this course you will explore theatrical performance, production and design. You can specialise in acting, production, lighting, stage management or design. You will work in The Nexus Theatre, an on-campus teaching and performing venue. This professional theatre space also hosts community musical, cultural and theatrical events, which could give you extra opportunities for work experience. You can create your own work under the guidance of mentors and academics or even gain valuable experience through an internship with the Black Swan State Theatre Company. When you graduate, you could pursue a career as a producer, director, actor, stage manager or scriptwriter. You could choose to work in the television and film industry, teach Drama or explore roles in the entertainment industry, events management or in the fields of social research, the humanities and/or the creative arts.

Structure

You can combine your Theatre and Drama degree with other majors to expand your skills, knowledge and career prospects. Recommended double majors include English and Creative Writing, Screen Production, Sound, Public Relations or Community Development.
