Whether you would like to pursue a traditional legal role or explore an emerging field, this Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree will give you a solid foundation in each of the major areas of legal practice. You will also gain the practical, real-world skills that employers expect in graduates. The Clinical Legal Education program in partnership with the SCALES Community Legal Centre will give you valuable experience within a legal practice, working on real cases with real clients. The well-established and successful Mooting program at Murdoch will help to develop your advocacy and reasoning skills in local and international competitions, using the Herbert Smith Freehills Electronic Moot Court, which is designed like a real courtroom. If you would like to travel while you study, you could complete Murdoch Law School units at the Universita di Macerata in Italy or join the Human Rights program in Geneva, Switzerland. You could apply to study a unit in India and or take advantage of internship opportunities in world renowned multinational corporations in Germany.

You can specialise in an area you are interested in by completing a double degree, such as Criminology, Global Politics and Policy, Journalism, Theatre & Drama, Environmental Science, Accounting or Finance, to further broaden your career prospects.

Students who gain entry to the Bachelor of Laws can enter either the single Law degree of 4 years duration, or a joint degree, which combines Law and another Bachelor degree. The School of Law offers a selection of specified elective units overseas as part of its European Summer Program in Law, hosted at the University of Macerata, Italy, Human Rights Law in Geneva or Chinese Law in China. The program will be run subject to sufficient enrolments.


The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree meets the educational requirements of the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia for admission as a practising lawyer. Once you graduate, you will also need to meet additional training requirements to be admitted to legal practice. This degree is also accredited by the Ministry of Law in Singapore, the Malaysian Bar Council and the Indian Bar Council.

Murdoch university has three campuses. The main campus is on South Street in Murdoch and is an easy commute from the Perth CBD and Fremantle, whilst the Rockingham and Peel campuses are located further south of Perth. All three campuses are well serviced by public transport, parking and bike racks.
