If you want to teach or have taught in international schools, or if you want to internationalise your curriculum, this is the course for you. Educators will be introduced to the historical background and contemporary world of international education, schools, curriculum, programs, ideas and students. The course provides a launching pad for future studies in the field and international work opportunities. The Graduate Certificate is a stand-alone course that examines and critiques a range of international curriculums and provides connections to the organisations that drive these programs. On completion of the Graduate Certificate, the professional development requirements associated with the International Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching and Learning are met and certification provided. Students will develop a teaching portfolio as they progress throughout the course and will have opportunities to observe and converse with international school teachers and leaders in the field. The Graduate Certificate also provides a pathway with advanced standing into the Masters by Coursework degree for those interested in furthering their study in the field of international education.

Standard entry requirements

Recognised Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent training. Students who are not qualified teachers but have had at least two years of full-time recent, relevant and satisfactory teaching experience may seek admission to the Certificate, but should note that the course does not constitute an initial teaching qualification.
