The Master of Health Care Management aims to cultivate excellence in quality, leadership and management in health professionals working in quality, safety, risk and middle management roles in acute, community, mental health, primary and aged care in public and private sectors. Upon completion of this course, you will have the capacity and capability of applying these skills in a range of management positions and become a leader and champion of change. You will have the opportunity to choose from innovative and creative elective units, meaning you can focus on your area of speciality. As a graduate of this course you will meet consumer expectations of the healthcare system and fulfil industry demand for increased middle management skills in order to enhance the quality of services.Positions such as Accreditation Coordinator, Quality Manager, and Quality and Risk Manager are essential within health services, particularly the private and aged care sectors. Upon successful completion of this course you will be in a favourable position to fill such roles.

Entry Requirements:

Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent in a health discipline; plus English competence. Preparation for the course through previous study or professional experiences will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Admission & Selection 

The path you take when you apply to Murdoch will vary depending on who you are and what you want to study. 

High school leavers:

If you’re completing high school this year, you'll need to apply through TISC. Once applications to TISC have closed, you can apply directly to Murdoch until the start of the semester.

All other applicants:

Applications can be made at any time directly to Murdoch using our online application system.

If you don’t currently meet our admission requirements, we have a range of enabling pathways, including our free enabling courses, which will qualify you to apply for any Murdoch undergraduate degree that has a minimum Selection Rank of 70.

 

Study options

Depending on your chosen course, we offer flexible study options including full-time or part-time and on-campus or online.
