Certificate III in Carpentry

This course will develop the skills and knowledge you need to have a successful career as a carpenter in the domestic housing industry or commercial construction area. You will learn how to use basic carpentry tools, power tools and equipment, read and interpret plans, handle carpentry materials and construct pitched roof, ceiling frames and flooring systems and undertake carpentry formwork in preparation for concrete. To successfully complete this course, you will be required to undertake a compulsory work placement. Detailed information about work placement will be provided at orientation.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
