This qualification is part of the Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It enables individuals to select a tree cropping, vegetable or berry production or mushroom production context as a job focus or, in the case of mixed enterprises, both.

15 units: 1 core; 14 elective

Electives: Follow site quarantine procedures; Apply chemicals under supervision; Operate basic machinery and equipment; Plant horticultural crops; Maintain properties and structures; Assist with pump and flow control device operations; Operate vehicles; Operate quad bikes; Undertake propagation activities; plus more.

Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges is a Registered Training Organisation that provides training in a wide range of agricultural specialisations across a range of geographic and climatic regions throughout Queensland. The College was formed as a result of the merger of Dalby Agricultural College, Longreach Pastoral College, Emerald Agricultural College and the Australian College of Tropical Agriculture (Burdekin Agricultural College and Mareeba Environmental College). The College offers training in agriculture, horticulture and production horticulture, rural business management, automotive and engineering programs as well as conservation and land management. Other available training and qualifications include traineeships, apprenticeships, short and specialist courses, and tailored training for schools, business and industry.
