Queensland University of Technology (QUT)

Type of institution: University/Higher Education Institution
Level: Undergraduate
CRICOS: 00213J

Combine your love of design and the environment with a landscape architecture degree from QUT. You’ll work with the community on real projects, and create outdoor spaces that have a positive cultural and environmental impact. In this course, you’ll combine your knowledge of landscape systems and design to create positive social, cultural and environmental impacts in our cities, regions and outdoor spaces. Your degree will begin with introductory and shared impact lab units where, working with students from other disciplines, you’ll focus on problems and social issues and identify potential solutions connected to industry and community. Your introductory studies will focus on foundational landscape design knowledge, skills and applications, covering a range of design principles, theories and processes that you will apply to real or simulated design scenarios. Building on these foundations, you’ll then explore core units covering design history and theory, building materials, flora, ecology, landform and tectonics. Later in your degree, you’ll transfer your skills and knowledge to a diverse workplace or professional context, and gain practical work experience through our work integrated learning program.

Further information

QUT offers a range of scholarships that provide real support for students. Our offer guarantee can give you peace of mind about your study choices. If you receive an ATAR or selection rank equal to or higher than the offer guarantee, you are guaranteed a place in the course regardless of the threshold. This means that when you know your ATAR or selection rank you can check your eligibility for a QUT course before receiving an offer. You still need to lodge a QTAC application by the closing date. A small number of courses do not participate in the offer guarantee scheme.
