We offer Queensland’s only university degree in radiation therapy. This course has been designed in consultation with clinical staff from industry and is taught by registered professionals with extensive experience. The content incorporates clinical skills and hands-on experience from your first semester. The Bachelor of Radiation Therapy is a professional degree providing graduates with a highly specialised qualification. This course is not designed as a bridging course for a different career. Your studies will cover the interaction of radiation on body tissue, radiation therapy treatment planning, X-ray and CT image matching, and treatment delivery in a virtual environment.
Structure
384 credit points consisting of 264 credit points of core theoretical radiation therapy studies and 120 credit points of professional practice studies.

- Year 12 or equivalent
- Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. Study pathways
Students may apply to transfer to a Bachelor of Radiation Therapy (Honours) at the end of second year. Entry to Honours will be competitive and will be based on Grade Point Average. Postgraduate studies in Ultrasound or Research degrees are available.

Further information
Hepatitis B vaccination and a current Blue Card prior to commencing the clinical placement components in this course. Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Rubella, Tetanus and Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccinations are mandatory for all students attending a Queensland Health facility for placement. Hepatitis A, Influenza and Poliomyelitis are highly recommended for all Health students. QUT offers a range of scholarships that provide real support for commencing and continuing students. Our offer guarantee can give you peace of mind about your study choices. If you receive an ATAR or selection rank equal to or higher than the offer guarantee, you are guaranteed a place in the course regardless of the threshold. This means that when you know your ATAR or selection rank you can check your eligibility for a QUT course before receiving an offer. You still need to lodge a QTAC application by the closing date. A small number of courses do not participate in the offer guarantee scheme.
