This program prepares you for a career in your chosen built environment discipline and the capacity to contribute to a better built environment. The Construction Management major provides the skills to become well-educated industry professionals within the construction, development and associated industries The Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering major provides the skills to become well-educated industry professionals within the construction, resources and associated industries. The Urban and Regional Planning major provides knowledge and expertise in design and administration of plans and policies at different scales to manage the use of land and natural resources to meet future human needs in a sustainable way. Each major is designed to deliver an adaptable, innovative and work-ready graduate able to apply sound judgement and expertise in practice in their chosen field.

Year 12 or equivalent; Assumed knowledge: English (4,SA) and Maths A, B or C (4,SA)

Structure:

The degree requires completion of 384 credit points consisting of core urban development units, major discipline units and complementary studies, and is normally completed in 4 years of full-time study or the equivalent part-time study. There is opportunity to undertake complementary studies (second major or minors) in: related disciplines - in Urban Development and Property Economics; or to select from other disciplines. All students must undertake a professional work placement as part of the Faculty's Work Integrated Learning core unit. The Bachelor of Urban Development (Honours) is located at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Study Pathways:

Students wishing to graduate with a Bachelor of Urban Development (Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering) (Honours) will be initially enrolled in the Bachelor of Urban Development (Construction Management) (Honours) but will be directed to take suitable units to graduate with a Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering primary major.
