Diploma in Engineering

Develop strong foundational engineering skills to help you make a successful transition to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree. The Diploma in Engineering draws on units from QUT's Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree, introducing you to foundational engineering concepts, knowledge and technical skills. Our diploma also has a strong focus on helping you develop the academic skills You will need at university, preparing you for successful study. All units adopt a blended approach to learning. On-campus classes are supported by online activities, helping you to become an independent learner. You will benefit from additional contact hours with experienced QUT educators in smaller class sizes allowing a more personalised learning experience.

Entry requirements

  • Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you Do not have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • General Mathematics, or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)
