Entry requirements
- Prior study entry requirement - You must have a completed postgraduate qualification from a recognised higher education institution in a relevant clinical field. Hospital and professional training, certificates, etc are not acceptable in lieu of a higher education postgraduate qualification. Incomplete postgraduate studies are also not acceptable. Professional registration entry requirement - You must have current registration as a nurse (Division 1) without conditions with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Clinical practice entry requirements - You must: be currently working in an advanced nursing practice role, have a minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) clinical practice experience as a registered nurse in the nominated speciality, have a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent) experience (within the last six years) in an advanced nursing practice role in the nominated speciality, have the support of your Executive Director of Nursing (or equivalent).
Recognition
This course is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates may apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for authorisation to practise as a nurse practitioner in Australia.
