For each actor on stage or screen, there's a world of professionals involved in every aspect of the performing arts, including writers, teachers, designers, producers, directors, promoters and managers. This course can give students the experience and connections they need to forge a career in this world, and build on their passion for drama and performance. It offers students the opportunity to explore directing, designing, teaching, devising, creative producing and administration. Students can engage with new and traditional theatre forms and explore relationships between live performance and new theatre and screen technologies. Opportunities exist for local, national and international projects that focus on social engagement, community development and contemporary theatre works for children and young people.

- Year 12, or equivalent
- Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C).
This course can be followed with a graduate-entry teacher education course, which enables students to become qualified teachers. Pathways to the Master of Philosophy are also available. Students may be able to claim advanced standing for part of their course, on the basis of completed or partially completed studies, and other assessable learning outcomes.
