Business and law double degree graduate
    Legal Officer, Attorney-General’s Department

Growing up in North Queensland, I didn’t really know what I wanted to become. I just knew it involved empowering my people.

QUT took me to Bangkok for a UN Peace Summit that opened my eyes to global human rights issues. I also went on an amazing study exchange in Canada where I learnt so much and made incredible friendships.

Here at home, QUT helped me prepare for a paid internship at a city law firm while I’m still studying. My heart is set on becoming a human rights lawyer.

I was nervous about moving to the city to study, but I soon found my feet, thanks in part to QUT’s Oodgeroo Unit who help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students like me succeed at uni.

At QUT, I’ve taken every opportunity that’s come my way and was named the Queensland Law Society’s First Nations Law Student of the Year.
