This qualification is part of the Hairdressing Training Package. It reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

28 units: 21 core; 7 elective

Core: Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices; Provide shampoo and basin services; Colour and lighten hair; Design haircut structures; Straighten and relax hair with chemical treatments; Provide salon services to clients; plus more. Electives: Create combined haircut structures; Create classic long hair up-styles; Shave heads and faces; Braid hair; Select and apply hair extensions; Participate in session styling teams; plus more.

Established in 1980, Riverina Community College is a Registered Training Organisation which delivers adult education and training to the Riverina. The College has centres located in Wagga Wagga, Leeton, Tumut and Corowa. Vocational training is offered to individuals and businesses via classroom, distance, traineeships, one to one and skill sets delivery. Non-vocational lifestyle and leisure courses are also available. The College participates in a number of state and federally-funded programs, including the Inclusive Community Education Program (ICEP) for adults with disability, and the Community Visitors Scheme.
