Certificate II in Animal Studies

This qualification is part of the Animal Care and Management Training Package. It is an entry point into the animal care industry and prepares students for job roles such as an animal attendant in a kennel, cattery, animal shelter or pet shop. The course develops skills and knowledge required for the care and maintenance of animals in a variety of workplaces. Students will learn about the animal care industry and careers available in its many sectors. Whilst undertaking this course it is highly recommended that students seek to gain a period of work experience in an animal care workplace.

12 units: 7 core; 5 elective

Core: Work in the animal care industry; Participate in workplace communications; Complete animal care hygiene routines; Feed and water animals; Assist in health care of animals; Participate in occupational health and safety processes; Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices.
