In this double degree you'll learn about both the aviation industry and business management, providing you with a diverse set of skills and a wide range of employment options. As an RMIT aviation student, you will be prepared for employment in a range of operational management and planning roles in the aviation industry. As an RMIT management student, you will further enhance your business knowledge and gain the skills to manage contemporary organisations within complex and changing economic and social conditions. You'll study core courses and elective courses that will allow you to tailor your double degree to your interest area(s). Graduates are prepared for employment in airline operations planning and management, airline maintenance management and supervision, airport landside operations, airport airside operations, airport planning and management, and aviation safety management.

Entry Requirements:

Current Year 12 prerequisite Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in any Mathematics.


Year 1 - You'll develop a breadth of skills and knowledge across the aviation industry, while learning basics in business such as accounting and economics. Year 2 - You'll learn the operational and management aspects of airlines and airports, as well as cargo and logistics, ground handling, and safety. Your business studies will include marketing and pricing strategies. Years 3 and 4 - While completing your studies you'll have the opportunity to tailor your degree to your preferred area of future employment.

Study Pathways:

There are no articulation agreements with this double degree, however students with related qualifications in aviation or management may be considered for exemptions on a case-by-case basis. Student's GPA will be considered as part of the application for advanced standing.

Further information:

In the final year of this double degree you'll undertake the Capstone Aviation Industry Project in which you'll receive feedback from industry practitioners.
