The Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) provides students with the skills to work as a designer, technical specialist, consultant or manager in a range of industries. Students will develop the knowledge to lead the implementation of new technologies and operating practices and systems in process, automotive, manufacturing, mining, energy and infrastructure orientated businesses.

Structure

The program consists of 192 credit points and will meet AQF 9 Learning Outcome Standards. The program shares a common first and fourth semester with other master of engineering programs and includes a research component.

Standard entry requirements

You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 70% (see calculator below).

Recognition

Engineers Australia accreditation will be sought for this program in accordance with accreditation timelines.

Study pathways

If applicants have completed a Bachelor of Engineering program in mechanical engineering, at AQF level 8 or equivalent, you may be eligible to receive up to 96 credit points of advanced standing into the program. At completion of this program, you will meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the PhD (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering).
