RMIT Tech Ignite Scholarship

Award value: $15000 annually

For commencing computer science, data science, information technology or software engineering students from diverse backgrounds; worth up to $60,000.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must: be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a permanent humanitarian visa holder; be commencing full-time study in semester 1 and 2 2026 and have received a program offer by 10 January 2026* in one of the following programs: Bachelor of Computer Science (BP094)^, Bachelor of Computer Science (Professional) (BP347), Bachelor of Data Science (BP340)^, Bachelor of Data Science (Professional) (BP348), Bachelor of Information Technology (BP162)^, Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional) (BP349), Bachelor of Software Engineering Professional (BP096); be from a diverse background and/or be able to demonstrate circumstance/s which impact your ability to study such as: being a strong achieving student who identifies as a woman, receiving a government tested low-income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card, living with a disability, long-term medical condition or identify as neurodivergent, experiencing difficult family/social circumstances, be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT, have previously/are currently living in foster/kinship care or are a ward of the state, be from an under-represented background such as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, were born overseas, are from a non-English background and recently migrated to Australia, current or former refugee, completed secondary school at a School Network Access Program school; be available to participate in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities (internships), totalling 40 weeks in your third year of study (these internships will be paid and you will gain credit points towards your program); if shortlisted, respond to an email in early December to answer further application questions; be available for an interview if shortlisted**. *Direct to RMIT applicants must also accept their program offer by this date.^Be willing to transfer to the Professional practice program by the third year of your study.**RMIT has a great range of online career support resources available including a prepare for interviews section.
