The RMIT Accommodation Scholarship assists commencing students relocating to Melbourne from interstate or a Victorian regional area to find suitable, affordable accommodation.
Eligibility
Applicants must: be Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents; be enrolling in a government-supported diploma, bachelor, honours or postgraduate coursework program; have to move from interstate or regional/rural Victoria to study at an RMIT Melbourne campus; be studying in a course of at least six months duration; not have previously completed a qualification at the same or higher level than the program they are commencing; be able to demonstrate financial and educational disadvantage; and not have previously been enrolled at RMIT.

Students commencing at the beginning of the year: VTAC applicants must apply via the VTAC scholarships portal by early-October; non-VTAC applicants must apply by early October direct to RMIT. Students commencing mid-year should apply direct to RMIT by early June, see the website for further information.
Amount | $6,000 The scholarship provides accommodation assistance in the first year of study of up to $6,000 for full-time enrolled and $3,000 for part-time enrolled. Mid-year recipients receive $3,000 (full-time enrolled) or $1,500 (part-time enrolled) for their first semester of study only. |
