The Fred McKay Medical Student Scholarship was established in 1997 in honour of Rev Fred McKay. Fred McKay was the successor to Rev John Flynn as the spiritual leader of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). The scholarship is provided to better acquaint Tasmanian medical students with working and living in rural and remote communities and the work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must: be enrolled to study in the final year of the UTAS MBBS course on a full-time basis while in receipt of the scholarship.
