Site Skills Training

This unit is part of the Metal and Engineering Training Package. It provides participants with the underpinning skills and knowledge to check hydraulic system components, and identify and repair or replace faulty components and work in the hydraulic industry as a specialist fitter. Practical work tasks include identifying, inspecting and assessing hydraulic systems using fluid power principles to predetermined specifications interpreted from data sheets and circuit diagrams to enable adjustment, repair, replacement and overhauling of hydraulic components. Tasks will be completed to predetermined standards of quality, safety, practice and procedures.

Entry Requirements:

Fitter or Diesel Fitter trade qualification; plus basic understanding and knowledge of hydraulics; plus relevant current employment or apprenticeship
