SMYL Community Services

This qualification is part of the Retail Services Training Package. It provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail outlets.

14 units: 8 core; 6 elective

SMYL Community Services is an independent non-profit Registered Training Organisation. It strives to support people and communities in making positive changes for their future by offering a range of employment and training services to all members of the community. SMYL Community Services also provides personal support, counselling, mentoring, advocacy and referral services in Perth and in communities throughout regional and remote WA. SMYL's Community Learning Centres (CLCs) provide education and training programs for young people who can't complete their studies at school and aims to help those who missed out on their education when they were younger. It also assists people in obtaining apprenticeships and traineeships through its group training company. Its vision is 'To improve the overall welfare of the community by providing appropriate social services, education, employment and training.'
