This qualification is part of the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package. It reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of servicing tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Entry Requirements:

Year 10 or equivalent

Structure:

20 units: 13 core; 7 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Identify basic automotive faults using troubleshooting processes; Inspect, test and service batteries; Inspect and service final drive assemblies; Inspect and service braking systems; Inspect and service cooling systems; Inspect and service steering systems; Inspect and service suspension systems; Inspect and service engines; Inspect and service drive shafts; plus more. Electives: Respond to customer needs and enquiries in an automotive workplace; Test, charge and replace batteries and jump-start vehicles; Depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicles; Select light vehicle tyres and wheels for specific applications; Remove, inspect and refit light vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies; plus more.
