This qualification is part of the Electrotechnology Training Package. It provides competencies to select, assemble, set up and maintain simple equipment and systems to a prescribed routine certification of telecommunication cabling in buildings and premises. It includes ACMA requirements for Open Cable registration.

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan; Apply OHS regulations, codes and practices in the workplace; Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components; Solve problems in d.c. circuits; Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications; Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electrotechnology work; Install and maintain cabling for multiple access to telecommunications services; plus more. Elective: Source and purchase parts/material for installation or service jobs; Lay wiring/cabling and terminate accessories for extra-low voltage (ELV) circuits; plus more.
