This course will prepare you to work in a range of community settings and clients homes, providing training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. You will learn the skills required to promote a person-centred approach and be able to work without direct supervision. At this level, you may also be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team. As part of this course you will undertake a compulsory, supervised work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned in the classroom. Detailed information about work placement will be provided at orientation.
