Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations

This qualification is part of the Food Processing Training Package. It provides students with the practical skills and knowledge to undertake a range of activities in a vineyard or winery. Students will learn about communicating in the workplace and health and safety issues. Students can choose to learn skills that relate to wine grape growing, wine making, cellar door sales or wine tourism.

Entry Requirements:

Year 10 with minimum C grade in eight Stage 4 units including two each of English, Mathematics and Science; or Certificate I in Food Processing (Wine) Viticulture Qualification; or equivalent

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Communicate workplace information; Present and apply workplace information; Use basic mathematical concepts; Follow work procedures to maintain health and safety; Implement occupational health and safety systems and procedures; Follow work procedures to maintain quality; Implement quality systems and procedures; Follow work procedures to maintain food safety; Implement the food safety program and procedures; Perform effectively in the workplace (induction). Electives: Merchandise products; Interact with customers; Conduct winery and/or site tours; Evaluate wines (standard); Conduct a standard product tasting; Promote wine tourism information; Sell cellar door products and services; plus more.
