This course is for people who want to develop some employability skills to get a job or to go on to further training. If individuals have experienced barriers or interruptions to education due to cultural or language differences, poor health or isolation, this may be the best course for them. When students enrol, a teacher will help them determine the most appropriate level of training.

Each year, more than 50,000 students enrol at colleges in South Western Sydney Institute. Students choose from more than 650 courses at Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level.

Training is conducted at ten colleges (Bankstown, Campbelltown, Chullora, Granville, Lidcombe, Liverpool, Macquarie Fields, Miller, Padstow and Wetherill Park), in workplaces, community locations and in overseas classrooms. The Institute continues to improve links with universities and schools to enhance pathways and provide maximum recognition of students' knowledge and skills.
