Certificate II in Foundation English Language Skills

This course is for adults from language backgrounds other than English who limited English. The course is designed for students with a minimum English language proficiency of International Second Language Proficiency Ratings (ISLPR) 1, or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 3. This will help students participate in the Australian community, progress in their job or do further study. Before students enrol in this course they need to have an interview. The interview will help to make sure this is the right course for them, in terms of their current English language skills and their future goals.

No minimum education. The course is designed for students with minimum English language proficiency of International Second Language Proficiency Ratings (ISLPR) 1, or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 3.

Core: Use English to participate in simple spoken exchanges; Listen and respond to simple English texts; Read and respond to simple English texts; Use English to write simple texts. Elective: Investigate community action to contribute to sustainability; Devise strategies for living in Australia; Use data handling in a range of contexts; Apply basic critical literacy skills; plus more.
