Certificate III in Furniture Making

This qualification is part of the Furnishing Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to perform a wide range of tasks in furniture making, including interpretation of specifications drawings, use of specialised machines and hand techniques.

Core: Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices; Work safely; Communicate in the workplace; Work in a team; Prepare surfaces for finishing; Use furniture making sector hand and power tools; Assemble furnishing components; Hand make timber joints; Set up, operate and maintain basic static machines; Apply manufactured board conversion techniques; Produce manual and computer-aided production drawings; Make measurements and calculations; Read and interpret work documents; Estimate and cost job; Handle dangerous goods/hazardous substances. Plus electives.
