Certificate III in Upholstery

This qualification is part of the Furnishing Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to perform upholstery, including dismantling and reassembling furniture; selecting, cutting, sewing and fitting fabric and leather upholstery materials; and producing loose covers. There is a specialist stream in production upholstery.

Core: Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices; Work safely; Communicate in the workplace; Work in a team; Make measurements and calculations; Read and interpret work documents; Estimate and cost job; Use upholstery sector hand and power tools; Fit upholstery components; Machine sew basic upholstery final cover materials; Develop cutting plan and cut single layer upholstery fabric; Dismantle and reassemble furniture for upholstering; Fit and apply final cover materials to furniture using basic techniques; Handle dangerous goods/hazardous substances. Plus electives.
