This degree enables students to pursue areas about which they are passionate while gaining relevant, transferable and valuable career skills for life. The course promotes critical thinking, community engagement and creative practices and provides the scope to build strong intellectual capabilities and a broad knowledge of the liberal arts as well as a deepened understanding through the study of majors. Specialist streams (made up of a minimum of 4 units) are also available for students to pursue languages (Mandarin) and community engaged learning. Students can also elect to undertake a professional placement to gain experience in the workplace and to establish professional contacts.

Year 12; or TAFE and VET Awards (Certificate III and above); or Undergraduate and Postgraduate study; or work experience (1 year full-time equivalent); Recommended: any 2 units of English

Structure:

24 units. A selection of majors are available to be chosen from across the university. Professional placement provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in the workplace and to establish contacts. Majors and units differ by campus and some units are offered exclusively by distance education.

Study Pathways:

An Honours year is available for selected students. Students may exit the Bachelor of Arts degree early with an Associate Degree, following successful completion of the 16 required units.
