Western Herbal Medicine is a holistic form of medicine which not only treats the symptoms but addresses the underlying causes of a condition. This degree provides a holistic clinical environment where students will be trained to identify individual properties of different herbs, how to prepare them and how to prescribe them. A degree in Western Herbal Medicine is ideal for those who want a career incorporating herbal medicine practice as part of a holistic and scientifically based health plan.
Structure
3 trimesters of 12 weeks (plus exams). Full-time load is 4 subjects per trimester. Subjects include: Anatomy and Physiology, Bioscience, Research and Evidence Based Practice, Western Herbal Medicine, Clinical Studies, Herbal Manufacturing, Herbal Pharmacology, History and Philosophy of Herbal Medicine.

- Or mature age (21 years of age and over)

Study pathways
Students can apply for course credits if they have completed relevant previous studies at another institution.
Further information
Mature age students must have a minimum of Year 10 schooling plus demonstrated life/work experience in the admission interview.
