This qualification is part of the Health Training Package. It reflects the role of first aid or medical response workers who provide basic health care services including emergency first aid and sometimes transport services in the pre-hospital/out-of hospital environment. The qualification applies to people who provide a first response in workplaces such as industrial sites, first aid organisations and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

13 units: 6 core; 7 elective

Subjects you can Study:

Core: Follow safe work practices for direct client care; Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures; Provide advanced first aid; Recognise healthy body systems; Work with diverse people; Communicate and work in health or community services. Electives: Provide advanced resuscitation; Follow procedures for routine safe removal of patient; Transport non-emergency patients under operational conditions; Take clinical measurements; Assist clients with medication; plus more.
