This unit is part of the Health Training Package. It describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings.

Entry Requirements:

No minimum education. Oral communication skills are needed in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services and workplace supervisor.

Surf Life Saving New South Wales (SLS NSW) trading as the Australian Lifesaving Academy NSW (ALA NSW) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID: 90394) which offers Nationally Recognised & Work Cover Approved First Aid Training covering all First Aid accreditation requirements. The ALA NSW is recognised by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and under its scope of registration can deliver and issue a number of accredited qualifications and units of competency. The ALA NSW can provide students with a First Aid package that includes onsite training, public course venues and First Aid and safety equipment that they require. Since its inception in 2004 the ALA NSW has delivered over 450,000 Units of Competency in CPR and First Aid throughout the ACT and NSW, to professionals and members of the community. Their current personnel have extensive experience in co-ordinating successful training partnerships, which have been supported by the organisational structure of the ALA NSW. A feature of these partnerships is the high level of customer service, regular client interaction, and professional conduct of all their staff. They are passionate about providing quality training and education services, and are always striving to exceed the expectations of their partners in all business communication and interactions. The ALA NSW has developed strong working relationships with businesses, schools, government departments and organisations. They currently deliver training at over 1,500 schools, 7 universities, 18 NSW councils, 800 child care centres and many more. Onsite training is available 24/7 for a minimum of 6 participants per course.
