As an ARRI Film School, Swinburne gives you access to professional filmmaking technology trusted by the global screen industry. Develop industry-ready skills across cutting-edge digital production and traditional 16mm filmmaking, while exploring directing, cinematography, editing, sound, producing and production design. Structure

Successful completion of the Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) requires students to complete units of study to the value of 400 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.

Entry requirements

  • One of the following: successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification
  • completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification (including diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees and degrees).

Recognition

On completion of this qualification students may be eligible to become members of the following industry bodies and should confirm their eligibility with the association: Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS), Australian Directors Guild (ADG), Australian Screen Editors Guild (ASE), Australian Writers Guild (AWG), and Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA).

Study Pathways

Pathways allow students to progress from one qualification to another where the first course is recognised as an entry requirement and/or provides advanced standing to the second. Credit is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
