Expand your knowledge and skills and acquire an in-depth understanding in an engineering discipline of your choosing. The Graduate Diploma of Engineering builds on your existing engineering studies and knowledge. The course teaches technical expertise and management skills. Select a specialisation from one of six options: Advanced Manufacturing, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Network Systems and Telecommunications or Structural Engineering. Depending on your chosen specialisation, you'll graduate with the skills and knowledge to pursue work as an engineer in a range of areas.

Standard entry requirements
- A Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree (minimum four years of full-time study) in an approved cognate field, or a Graduate Certificate of Engineering degree in an approved cognate field following on from a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree, or a qualification deemed to be equivalent to any of the above. Applicants with a recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in an approved cognate field may be eligible for advanced standing. English language requirements - satisfactory completion of one of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65% or above
- Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
- Any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency. Note: A prerequisite for many courses, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done on campus in Hawthorn.

Completion of this course may assist graduates in meeting eligibility criteria for membership to various levels of Engineers Australia.
